Free Military Yoga & Meditation Class 01/02/2020
This is a Free Class for active & retired Military Personnel and their family members!
The first part consists of a guided physical yoga practice and anybody can participate, poses are modified, blocks or straps are used to enable every participant to practice. The practice focuses on breath, movement, core strength, and concentration. This is the perfect prelude to meditation, relaxation and to destress.
The second part is a Yoga Nidra guided meditation and is a deep physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. During Yoga Nidra the practitioner seems to be asleep, but the consciousness is functioning at a deep level of awareness.
Benefits of yoga and meditation:
- Reduction in anxiety, depression.
- Improved self control, anger and aggression management.
- Improved sleep quality.
- Decreased PTSD symptoms and improved functioning by helping individuals tolerate physical and sensory experiences associated with fear.
- Decreased fight or flight stress response, creating a sense of balance and union between the mind and body.
Ayurveda Winter Course
We check our constitution of the Gunas and Doshas, how to adjust ourselves for the Winter Season.
Class starts with a 30 min Asana practice, warming and energizing our bodies.
We will take the Dosha and Guna questionnaire and learn about remedies to adjust ourselves during the Kapha Season with strong Vata Undertones.
Class ends with a sattvic lunch prepared for the season.
Participants get to take home, 4 oz. Elderberry Syrup with infusion of Ayurvedic herbs to boost the immune system and a 4 oz. Ubtan Skin Scrub to balance our skin.
Ashtanga Yoga Shala can be accessed from 251 S. Seguin Ave and from 248 Comal Ave. The parking lot for the shala is behind the building to the right when coming from 251 S. Seguin Ave. Coming from 248 Comal Ave the parking lot is right away to the left when driving in. Please, use this parking lot or park on the street S. Seguin/Comal Ave!
